You may face a situation when you are staying in Sweden, but you need to buy things from other countries. There is tax and tariff on the imported things to Sweden. By understanding more precise information, you can make better decision when you buy things online.
This is just a short introduction to buying things online and deliver from other countries based on my personal experience. There are more details that you can read from Tullverket website.
There is no imported tax when you buy things from other EU countries. Thus, you just make sure that the items will be shipped within EU. Then you're good to go with your buying.
Note: for Amazon UK, it charges the tax with Swedish tax rate which is a bit higher than the UK's.
If the items are shipped from other countries outside EU countries, there is definitely imported tax on the shipped items, which you want to avoid that tax if possible. To avoid the tax, you need to mark the delivered items as "gift". Sweden allows gift items from other countries with the price (price of the items plus shipping cost) of maximum 400 SEK. The minimum allowance may change in the future. Please consult Tullverket website for up-to-date information.
