Traveling in EU is the dream to most people who have the chance in their life. Knowing more information will help you manage your time and budget on your dream holiday in those fascinating countries. Below are my personal experiences and knowledge that I would like to share.
Compare air ticket price:
Sky Scanner: you can search air ticket and compare among registered air line companies on this website. The good thing I like from this website is that it allows you to search the air ticket price for the whole month. With this, you can determine which date is the cheapest and the most suitable for you. You can also follow any air ticket price on any specific date by subscribe with your email address. Whenever the price is up or down, the email notification will be delivered to your inbox.
Train journey in Europe:
Inter Rail: You can buy train passes in Europe. It is cheaper and can save on accommodation since you can sleep on the night train across countries. It is exhausted and suitable for people you like exploration and full of energy to travel. Inter Rail is eligible for those who has been staying in any EU country for at least one year. If you have not been staying in EU or just arrive for holiday, you can buy Euro Rail, which is the same as Inter Rail.
Tips between air plane and train:
Hostel World: you search for hostels as it is more affordable. It charges you 2 euros when booking. Most hostels only list themselves on this website, so if you need to book the hostel, normally you must go through this website (no complaint!).
Similar websites: Booking and Hotels.
Couch Surfing: you can ask for a place to stay from a host on this website. Normally, the host will allow you to stay if you have good reference to prove that you are friendly, good person and trusted. People in Europe like meeting from different places so it is like a hobby to them. You may cook together and even play Nintendo game with them as well. If you like talking and socializing, you may consider Couch Surfing.
If you have visa or resident permit in any EU country, you can travel to other countries in Europe except the UK. You need to apply for UK visa to enter.

Tips between air plane and train:
- You need to be at the airport at least one hour before the departure, and there is strict check-in on your bag. Normally, most airports are very far from the city center, so you need spend time and money on transportation to the airport. Train station is in the city center, so it is more comfortable to leave the train and you are in the city center ready for sightseeing. For example, it takes more than 1 hour from Paris Charles De Gaulle to the city center in Paris by metro. It costs 9.5 euros for ticket as well.
- What you get from the train is that you can see good view of countryside between the rails as in air plane, you can enjoy the sky and cloud as well.
- Sometimes, train ticket cost more than the air ticket. However, you should think about the time wasting in the airport and money spending on transportation to and from the airport (air ticket + cost to airport + cost to city center when you arrive at the destination)
